This is due to a Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The two brands affected by this recall are Silk and Great Value, Walmart’s generic brand. This recall was announced after multiple illnesses were reported to be associated with the consumption of the affected beverages, which led to an investigation that resulted in a positive test of the foodborne illness. Common symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection (aka listeriosis) include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In more severe cases, symptoms may include headache, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions. If you are experiencing any of these signs after consuming one of the above recalled products, contact your health care provider as soon as possible.
