Over 160,000 Pounds of Frozen Chicken Nuggets and Tenders Recalled Due to Metal Wire in Products

The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has just announced a nationwide recall on ready-to-eat Perdue Foods chicken products. This is after multiple consumer complaints of finding metal wire in the products.

Approximately 167,171 pounds of frozen chicken is affected. The following products are being recalled and were sold in retail locations across the U.S., as well as online:

  • Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets with establishment number P-33944 and best if used by date printed as “03 23 25.” 
  • Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders with establishment number P-33944 and best if used by date printed as “03 23 25.”
  • ButcherBox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets with establishment number P-33944 and best if used by date printed as “03 23 25.”

If you have any of the above products in your freezer with matching recall information, dispose of it immediately or return to your place of purchase for a possible refund. Call your health care provider immediately if you have experienced any injury or illness after consuming one of the recalled products.
