Over 200,000 Pounds of Deli Meats Recalled Nationwide Due to Listeria Contamination

Check your refrigerator ASAP.

On Friday, the main source of the outbreak was determined by the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service: Boar’s Head ready-to-eat deli meat products.

If you recently purchased any of the above Boar’s Head meat products, dispose of it immediately. Listeria infection can cause listeriosis, an illness that can become a serious disease for elderly, pregnant or immunocompromised individuals. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and, in severe cases, convulsions and seizures. Talk to your doctor if you’re experiencing any of these signs after eating deli meat that may be contaminated.
