EatingWell's Editorial Guidelines Close Fall is in the air, and based on its lineup of September offerings, Aldi has taken note. Apples and pumpkins and sage, oh my! You’ll love the items we’ve picked out for you this month. We’ve got fall-flavored coffee, immune-boosting smoothies and protein-packed sausages to get your morning energized and ready to go. Looking for some quick and easy dinner ideas? We’ve got those, too. There’s nothing like the smell of fresh, homemade bread baking—and Aldi has all the tools you'll need to make delicious loaves from scratch. Get ready to fall into autumn with these amazing Aldi finds for September! The Best Time to Shop at Aldi Barissimo Caramel or Apple Crisp Ground Coffee Whether it’s ooey-gooey caramel (preferably draped over an apple) or the smell of warming apple crisp baking in the oven, I’m all in on these fall flavors. Thankfully, you don’t have to wait to get them from your local fair or orchard. Aldi has them starting on September 4. And these autumn flavors come with a caffeine boost. Aldi’s Barissimo ground coffee is known for its smooth taste at an affordable price. Case in point: You can get a 12-ounce bag of this Barissimo Caramel or Apple Crisp 100% Arabica ground coffee for just $4.19. The Apple Crisp flavor is a festive light roast with apple, creamy butter and warm cinnamon notes. And, not to be outdone, the Caramel flavor is also a light roast with a sweet and creamy flavor and notes of caramelized brown sugar and rich condensed milk. In case you’re wondering if coffee is healthy—it is. But like anything it’s what you add to it and how much of it you drink that can change its health status. What Happens to Your Body When You Drink Coffee Every Day Whole & Simple Lookin' Berry Good and Berry Figgin' Good Organic Smoothies One thing I love about smoothies is that they’re quick and easy to put together. In about five minutes you can have a nutritious meal in a glass. And these Whole & Simple organic smoothies make whipping up smoothies even easier. Each 24-ounce packet contains three smaller 8-ounce pouches inside. The pouches are pre-portioned so you get a perfect amount of fiber- and antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies for your smoothie. The Lookin’ Berry Good pouches contain peaches, strawberries, blackberries, carrots, sweet cherries and raspberries. And the Berry Figgin’ Good pouches contain sweet cherries, blackberries, figs, apricots, kale and strawberries. All you have to do is add juice or another liquid; I would opt for gut-friendly kefir. It’s liquid and it adds probiotics and protein to your smoothie, which will keep you full for longer. Want even more? Toss in some chia seeds for more fiber, protein and healthy fats. Reggano Fall Shaped Pasta This fall-shaped pasta is a charming mix of pumpkin and leaf shapes. The colors are even autumn-themed—green, orange and beige. The coloring in the pasta comes from natural sources, including pumpkin, tomato, spinach and red beet powders. And this pasta is no slacker when it comes to muscle-building protein. A half-cup serving provides 7 grams of plant protein. Each 17.6-ounce bag is available for just $2.49 starting September 4. You could go the traditional route and serve this pasta with marinara or pesto. Or you could lean into the fall theme and use it in place of the rotini in our Rotini with Creamy Pumpkin Sauce. For extra fall feels, serve it in the Crofton Mini Pumpkin Casserole Dishes that are also available at Aldi this month. They come in sets of two in orange, white or green for $9.99 starting September 4. And, bonus: They’re dishwasher- and microwave-safe. Simply Nature Organic Chicken Sausage Harvest Apple or Cranberry Sage Besides pumpkin spice, what other flavors sing autumn? How about apple, cranberry and sage? Simply Nature Organic Harvest Apple Chicken Sausage would be a great protein-packed addition to any breakfast or in our Butternut Squash Ravioli with Chicken Sausage & Kale recipe. And the Cranberry Sage Chicken Sausage would be fabulous in our Penne Pasta with Sausage, Butternut Squash & Chard. You’ll need a pot to make these dishes in, and it just so happens that Aldi has the Crofton Cast Iron 6-Quart Dutch Oven available starting September 4 for $29.99. As far as the sausages are concerned, grab these fully cooked packages of five links for $4.99 starting September 18. They’re organic and contain no fillers or preservatives—just chicken, apples and/or cranberries, seasonings and a small amount of natural sweetener (maple syrup in the apple sausages and sugar in the cranberry sage). Specially Selected Traditional or Crinkle Cut Ribbon Noodles Noodles. There’s just something about them. They’re fun to say and even more fun to eat. And Aldi has 17.64-ounce bags of Specially Selected Traditional and Crinkle Cut Ribbon Noodles for $2.99 starting on September 18. These noodles have just two ingredients: durum semolina wheat and eggs. In a 1-cup serving, you’ll get 2 grams of gut-friendly fiber and 9 grams of muscle-building plant-based protein. Whether you’re yearning for a classic chicken noodle soup or a creamy chicken noodle soup, these noodles are the perfect satisfying slurpy addition. Bremer Mini Meatballs I love meatballs but I don’t love making them. They’re a little time-consuming and I hate the feeling of raw meat under my nails. Just sayin’. But with these Bremer Mini Meatballs, I get all the flavor of homemade meatballs without the fuss. They’re fully cooked so you just pop them in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds. Even better—they’re mini bite-sized meatballs, which means they’re kid-sized. I could see using these minis in place of the meatballs in our Slow-Cooker Spicy Plum-Glazed Meatballs—just mix up the sauce and toss it and the frozen meatballs together on the stovetop and heat until the meatballs are warmed through, then serve over rice. Or use these balls as a meaty addition to any of our mushroom soup recipes. They’re also the perfect size for meatball subs—I usually have to cut meatballs in half to fit the bun but with these, I won’t have to. And of course, there’s always the old standby: spaghetti and meatballs. Each package has about 132 mini meatballs for just $5.49 starting September 25. Season's Choice Buffalo Cauliflower or Breaded Parmesan Broccoli If you’re looking for an antioxidant-packed appetizer for your football party, swap your traditional Buffalo chicken wings out for these Season’s Choice Buffalo Cauliflower Bites or the Breaded Parmesan Broccoli. The cauliflower bites come with Buffalo sauce, and the broccoli is coated in breadcrumbs with garlic and Parmesan seasoning. You can grab a 13.5-ounce bag of each for just $3.49 beginning on September 25. The cauliflower bites would also go great in our Buffalo Chicken & Cauliflower Casserole—which would look super cute baked in the Crofton Small Pumpkin Casserole Dish that's also available at Aldi this month. This dish is available in orange, green or white starting on September 4 for just $9.99. Crofton Bread-Making Kit What smells better than homemade bread baking in the oven? Nothing. And what is better than a crusty home-baked slice of bread just out of the oven with its tender interior slathered with a little butter? Also nothing. Aldi clearly agrees and has the Crofton Bread-Making Kit available starting September 25 for just $14.99. This eight-piece kit includes everything you need to make fresh, homemade bread, including a proofing basket with cover, dough whisk, dough scraper, bread lame with replacement blade and recipe book. What is a bread lame, you ask? I had to look it up. It’s pronounced “lahm,” and means “blade” in French. It’s a long, thin stick that holds a razor blade and is used to score (cut) the top of your bread. Scoring your bread helps to control how much the loaf expands as it bakes. Speaking of baking bread, if you’re going all in, you also need to grab Crofton’s Cast Iron Bread Dome. Cast iron heats evenly, which allows the product—in this case, bread—inside of it to cook or bake evenly, too. And this one is enamel-coated, which makes it pretty and you can color-coordinate with your kitchen. Placing the dome over your bread as it bakes traps the steam and creates that perfectly crusty exterior. This bread dome is available in green or white for $24.99 starting September 25. So get that sourdough starter going and you could have fresh-baked Whole-Wheat Sourdough Bread all year long! Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
